FU9000MD is the small-drive series in the UFELE VFD range. It covers 0.75–2.2 kW motors and is intended for machines where the motor is small, the control cabinet is tight, and the installer still needs adjustable speed and configurable control functions.

A small machine does not need a large drive simply because a larger series is available. FU9000MD keeps the range focused on 0.75, 1.5 and 2.2 kW class applications. That makes it easier to plan the panel around the actual motor instead of leaving unnecessary cabinet space for an oversized drive.
FU9000MD is intended for control cabinets where usable panel space is limited. Check the mounting area, ventilation clearance and cable route before finalizing the enclosure.
The series supports configurable functions for normal machine control. Start/stop logic, speed reference and external signals should be decided before wiring.
Motor speed and torque-related settings can be adjusted around the machine. Use the motor plate and the actual load as the starting point rather than copying settings from another machine.
FU9000MD covers 0.75–2.2 kW (1–3 HP) with 220 V and 380 V classes. Because the range is small, the first checks are simple: motor rated current, site supply, and how the machine will send its run and speed commands.
| Check | What we need | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Motor | 0.75 / 1.5 / 2.2 kW class motor data | Confirms the correct drive size and current margin. |
| Supply | 220 V or 380 V class | Keeps the drive input matched to the site. |
| Control | Keypad, terminals or external controller | Determines how the machine will start, stop and change speed. |
| Cabinet | Available width, height, depth and cooling space | Prevents a compact drive from becoming a difficult retrofit. |
Smaller enclosures are often crowded. A drive still needs room for wiring, service access and heat to leave the cabinet. Put the motor cable, incoming supply and control wiring into the layout before drilling the panel.
For an existing machine, one clear photo of the old drive and the inside of the cabinet is often more useful than a long written description. It shows how much space is available and where the cable route already sits.

The series is aimed at small motors and compact equipment. The final model still depends on current, voltage and load, but these are the kinds of machines where a small VFD is normally easier to integrate than a full-size general-purpose unit.
Useful where a compact conveyor needs adjustable speed and smoother starting.
A practical fit for small machine frames where motor speed needs to change with the process.
Suitable when the old small drive is being replaced and space inside the original panel is limited.
Before wiring FU9000MD, decide where the run command and speed reference will come from. A small machine may use the drive keypad, external terminals or a controller. Communication can also be discussed when the machine needs it, but availability should be checked by model.
Useful for setup, testing and simple local operation.
Start/stop and speed commands can be planned around the machine’s switches, sensors or controller.
If the machine needs a communication link, include the interface requirement in the inquiry so the correct model can be checked.
Include the nameplate and the terminal area if it is safe to do so.
We use the rated current, voltage, frequency and motor power to size the replacement.
Width, height, depth and cooling clearance matter in compact cabinets.
Note whether run and speed commands come from the keypad, terminals or another controller.
A compact drive saves panel space, but the cabinet still has to be serviceable. Most avoidable problems come from leaving too little room for cable bends, putting heat-producing parts too close together, or discovering after installation that the old terminal layout was very different.
Power cables need room below or beside the drive. On a small panel, the cable bend can take more space than expected. We prefer to see the cabinet photo before a replacement model is finalized.
A small enclosure can heat up quickly when several components share the same space. Keep ventilation and service clearance in the layout instead of fitting the drive tightly against other devices.
The installer still needs to reach the power and control terminals. A compact drive is only useful when the panel can be wired and maintained without removing half of the surrounding hardware.
FU9000MD is deliberately limited to small motors. If the project is above 2.2 kW, needs a much broader power range, or has a specialized crane, pump/HVAC or compressor duty, we normally move the discussion to another UFELE series instead of forcing the compact drive into the job.
This keeps the selection simple. FU9000MD is for the small machine that needs a small VFD. FU9000D covers general machinery over a much wider range, while FU9000H, FU9000B and FU9000C are separated by application.
FU9000MD orders are checked against the approved model and order file. Electrical and functional verification is completed before packing, with label and quantity checks included in the shipment review.
FU9000MD covers 0.75 to 2.2 kW (1–3 HP). Match the drive to the motor rated current as well as the motor power.
The series is available in 220 V and 380 V classes. The exact input arrangement depends on the selected model.
FU9000MD is intended for small motors and compact cabinets. It is useful when panel space and installation simplicity matter more than a very broad power range.
The series supports user-programmable functions. Communication availability depends on the model, so include the required interface when requesting a quotation.
Send the old drive photo, motor nameplate, site voltage, cabinet space and a simple description of how the machine is controlled.
For a small drive, those two items answer most of the first selection questions.
